Performance

The Civic hatchback comes in five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L Navi, and Sport Touring. Most models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that makes 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, while the Sport model has a different version of the same engine, making 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with 6-speed manual transmission or optional with a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission, and the Sport model adds dual-mode paddle shifters.

According to EPA estimates, the 2018 Civic gets up to 40 MPG*, depending on the engine, transmission, and driving conditions.

Comfort and Convenience

Each model of the new Civic hatchback includes an Automatic Climate Control System, cruise control, driver's seat with height adjustment, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats. The Sport model adds Sport Pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Upper trims include Push Button Start, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated seats, leather-trimmed interior, and adjustable power seating.

Drivers with a need for cargo space will love the Civic hatchback. With all seats up, it features 25.7 cubic feet of cargo volume, and with the rear seats folded that expands to 46.2 cubes.

All models also include Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and Streaming Audio, Radio Data System, speed-sensitive volume, and USB audio interface. When you upgrade to a higher trim, you’ll also enjoy 8- or 12-speaker audio, infotainment with 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Sirius XM Radio, HD Radio, Pandora capability, SMS text function, and Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation with Voice Recognition.
